Officer for the company. On joining WGC
in 2000, one of his first major accomplishments
was to implement a new level of consistency
and quality control within the company
through the introduction of an audit
system across all WGC’s divisions.
An initiative which epitomises WGC’s
professional approach to business today.
Going back to his
early years, Lawrence grew up amidst
his family’s restaurant
business, placing him in very good stead
for his future career in the hospitality
sector. Following this line he went on
to obtain a degree from the Scottish
Hotel School, Strathclyde University.
After working abroad in the hotel sector
he returned to the UK, holding several
senior management positions in the hotel
industry and also established a consultancy
service advising the hospitality and
healthcare sectors, before deciding to
join WGC.
Lawrence is a Fellow of
the Institute of Hospitality (IOH), the
international body for hotel and catering
professionals, and is NEBOSH qualified
(National Examination Board in Occupational
Safety and Health).
